SBC Skincare - Green Caviar

5 May 2022

Green Caviar, or sea grape as it is commonly known, is part of the algae family, typically grown in tropical and subtropical climates. Its high mineral density coupled with rich qualities of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, makes the sea grape caviar healthy to ingest and to use topically on the skin. Impressively, Green Caviar also contains a powerful array of amino acids which directly impact collagen production. Over time, the algae has had to adapt to the tough saline conditions in seawater and as a result, has developed hygroscopic abilities – the ability to hydrate and improve water retention by simply using moisture absorbed from the air.

When SBC Skincare were searching for a key ingredient to use in their line of skincare that would address skin’s suppleness and moisture retention with a primary focus on anti-ageing, Green Caviar ticked all the right boxes, since it uses exactly the same processes to help keep the skin hydrated.

We were keen to try this range as we are already huge fans of seaweed-based products. After just two weeks of use, we noticed a huge difference in skin moisture levels. Beginning with a layer of Green Caviar Perfecting Serum with its anti-oxidant-rich botanicals, Green Tea, Ginkgo Biloba, Horsetail, Elderflower and Hyaluronic acid, which made for a great dewy base.

After a couple of minutes, we then applied the Green Caviar Perfecting Moisturiser which was ultra-fresh and lightweight. It locked in moisture without feeling heavy on the skin. This vegan friendly moisturiser has been dermatologically tested for use on all skin types.

The Green Caviar Perfecting Eye Gel, is again ultra-light and doesn’t drag on the eye area, unlike some eye creams. The gel feels so cooling and is infused with a botanical blend of soothing and hydrating extracts to care for the delicate eye area. It really helped with puffiness and eyes definitely looked refreshed and lifted after application. Aloe Vera helps to soothe and again, Green Tea, Ginkgo Biloba, Hyaluronic Acid and Elderflower make up the ingredients.

We are so happy to have found this vegan skincare brand. Based in the UK, SBC Skincare have been in the beauty and wellness business for more than 30 years but like their simple branding, their fuss-free and low-key approach is incredibly refreshing, leaving their products to do the talking.
